In the lonely ranch

Far beyond the  borderline

Where the pain and sadness dwell

Telling stories of the city

In a lonely ranch

With a sad and deep look

A rancher sings his sorrows

With his eyes full of tears

Poor rancher that at night

Under the dew

Waits for the moon in the back yard

Having a cigarette to keep him company

Without a sign

He takes up his guitar

And the moon as if by pitty

Comes to the yard of this rancher

In a lonely ranche

Far beyond the borderline

There has never more been laughter

Nor by night, nor by day

The trees no longer tell secrets

And the last palm tree

Has died in the mountain range

The little birds have locked themselves in their nests

For so sad is this sadness, fills up the nature with darkness

All because, the rancher, who used to be big and now is small

Even for a little cottage house

If God only knew of the sadness of the mountain

He would send up there all the love there is on earth

Because the rancher lives crazy in sadness

Just because of the poison of the women from the city

He who used to be the singer of the spring

And who has made the lonely ranch the best heaven in the world

If a flower blooms and the sun burns

The mountain goes freezing up

Reminds of the perfume of the sweetheart
